Justice and Reality: Think Like a Lawyer
Hello, everyone. I’m Qiu Chen.
Ah Zhan and I met at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. I coached the university’s Mandarin debating team and she was a member, so in that sense I was her teacher. I still remember scolding her for staying up to watch a football match the night before a competition; I worried that it would hurt her performance the next day. Her debating was the only thing I ever worried about—nothing else concerned me.
People speak of the “secretly rich.” To me, Ah Zhan used to be secretly rich in knowledge. Now the secret is out: Zhan Qingyun is a famous tycoon of knowledge. Her greatest strength is the astonishing wealth of learning she has accumulated.
Her second strength is transfer: an exceptional ability to draw connections and apply knowledge across fields. I am certain she can teach Thinking Like a Lawyer brilliantly.
Why should everyone hear this course? Our society is built from explicit, written laws and implicit, unwritten moral rules. Learning to think like a legal professional gives us the insight to see how the rules of the world operate.
So I invite everyone to listen to Zhan Qingyun’s Thinking Like a Lawyer.
